WHAT IS THE INCLUSIVE ACTIVATION SERIES?
Befriend’s Inclusive Activation Series is a resource for organisations seeking to be more genuinely inclusive to their employees, members, and communities.
We co-created the Series because connection and community are at the forefront of our work, and we believe inclusion is a vital step towards both. Grounded in research and collaboration with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals and people with disabilities, we listened attentively to their unique stories, challenges, and aspirations.
By centring their voices and lived experiences, we hope this free resource helps build more empathetic and truly inclusive communities.
HOW do i take part?
Our free, interactive card deck is a valuable resource that offers practical guidance and activities for creating inclusive experiences within community organisations and social groups. You can use the pack on its own to explore a range of practices to implement within your organisation.

If you want to level up your Inclusive Activation, sign up for our engaging online co-learning sessions where we bring the practices from the Inclusive Activation Card Deck to life. Learn from peers, share insights, and connect with other community organisations committed to inclusivity. There's nothing like the power of collective learning and collaboration!

- The Inclusive Activation Series Co-learning sessions will be all held on Zoom
- There's no cost to join, it's completely free for volunteers of community organisations and groups
- You can join one gathering or all of them, it's completely up to you. Each gathering will be based on a new topic grounded in empathy and deep listening.
MONTHLY GATHERINGS
17 Sept - Join us for a Warm Data Lab, where we'll share stories and insights about the world as we each see it
15 Oct - Explore your deep listening skills and the role of empathy in how we create connections
12 Nov - Unpacking how we might all be more vulnerable and transparent in our journeys to inclusion
Time: 1pm-3pm AWST

Valerie Weyland is a Solution Designer at Befriend and helped nurture the co-design process that led to the development of the Inclusive Activation Series. Her experience involves co-designing experiences that support BIPOC (Black,Indigenous and People of Colour) leaders and communities in meeting their full potential.
She is also Meditation practitioner, Storyteller and Master Facilitator of the Core Gift Discovery™ process.
